ARTIST’S BIO  Welcome to my`Parlor of Life’

“My art is rebellious – provocative and contagious. I’m a nonconformist to the past convictions or conventions, `isms’ and the stereotypes. Art has to be original, fresh and dynamic. I strongly detest the monotonous and the stagnant culture. My media spews vigorously aspirations of the new generation and a great promise for its future.”

After three years at college, I embarked upon an extensive program of education at two universities for nine years; learning and practicing all aspects of Painting, Sculpture, Design and the various Applied Arts such as Photography, Interiors, Graphic Art, Dramatics, Art Appreciation & Art Criticism. On the completion of my studies and research, I was offered an Honorary Professorship and later, took over as Head of the Arts and Crafts Department of a prestigious public institution.

Commissions & Awards

●Won a fierce contest; was assigned to create eight huge sculptural wall panels based on themes: `Devotion to Duty’, `Work is worship’ and `Dignity of Labor’ by the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India.

●Won`INDIASTAR’ – the highest National Award for Excellence in Packaging. Just then, I launched Admen India – an Ad Agency, and as its Creative Art Director and Chief Copywriter, my work was highly acclaimed as `revolutionary and trend setting’.

●Exhibited my works at Admen Art Gallery -- housed in my own building comprising of five floors and 14,000 sg.ft. carpet area.

1994 - 2002: Travels to Europe and America with my portfolios of Paintings.

2002- Present: Immigrated to Canada. Worked on over 150 Paintings in Digital Media. For a longtime, I’ve been affiliated with many art institutions, guilds, juries and the art forums. My works are in private and public collections all over the world.

Lately, I made a dramatic transition to Digital Media `cause it offered me an infinite scope for expressing my `inner-self’ freely. I’m no longer enslaved by the inherent constraints of a particular media, per se. I can work on my themes umpteen times until I achieve what I want and, can tailor-size my creations from miniatures to the large formats without sacrificing their originality. This media isn’t a techno-demo for me to weave dream-effects what my peers are doing today. Topsy-turvy imagery and phantasmagoric semiotics are not for me to adopt, either. My work resonates with a genre of the most poignant expression within digital media ecology and, an augmentation of the operative structure of human experience as the platform for a profound and synergistic connotation of my personal long cultural and intellectual moorings. Thus, my art defies paradigms of the past traditions `cause each of my work is unique in its own idiom. My palette is vibrant with iridescent colors; forms are lyrical and have their own soul. Titles are intended only to assist my art lovers walk with me into my Parlor of Life.

My abiding interest in Philosophy, Psychology, Literature, Metaphysics and Astrology has effused few `insights and revelations’ which I’m honored to share with you via my paintings. My relentless curiosity, investigation and, profoundly holistic and sensuous impulses are amply reflected in my creations, which discover me more than I do myself!
